Nell Merlino, Founder and President of Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence, was interviewed by FOX Business last month on why women are becoming entrepreneurs. When asked what motivates women to start businesses, Nell shares, “I think it usually starts with work/life balance. There are women who have great ideas and are frustrated where they work that they can’t get their ideas out so they start their own company. Women have a desire to make their life work – to make things fit so that they can do everything that they want to do in the course of their lives.”
Nell also reports that “there are approximately 10.5 million women in business across the US, and only 2.6% make a million dollars or more in revenue. The overwhelming majority of women in business continue to be at $50,000 or less in revenue, which is why at Count Me In, we are doing a whole series of programs this year helping women get their $50,000 revenue to $250,000 in revenue.” (Watch her full interview here)
We are so excited to be delivering these programs for Count Me In this year, and we can’t wait to see how these women change their lives and their businesses!
